As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how the most meaningful moments often come from the little details. I mean, isn’t that why it can take so long to pick the perfect flowers for your bouquet or the trimming on your invitations? Along my wedding photographer journey, I had the pleasure of photographing Ulysses and Anisa’s beautiful wedding at the hidden away Gilroy Lodge on the Hill, where their laid-back style and focus on family created an unforgettable celebration.
A Wedding Focused on Family + Heartfelt Moments Captured
From the outset, it was clear that Ulysses and Anisa’s special day was about more than just the two of them. Their commitment to cementing family ties was beautifully expressed throughout the event with a warm, inviting atmosphere that allowed their love to shine through every interaction throughout the day.
Anisa’s grandfather took the stage for a heartfelt song for the couple. His performance resonated throughout the lodge, there were a couple of the guests wiping away tears when he was finished. Another highlight was Anisa’s pre-teen daughter delivering a sweet speech to her new father. Her words were filled with sincerity and affection; several times her voice trembled and she let fat tears fall with a big smile. It was hard not to feel your heart melt at a daughter thanking her father for being there for her and their family. These moments serve as a reminder of why capturing the right emotions is crucial—they can easily pass by in the blink of an eye.
