I met up with Mike for the wedding and found out that both the bride and the groom were serving in the Coast Guard; which was excellent except, one was in Hawaii and the other was in Oregon. Despite this distance, they continued their relationship bearing the struggles of a LDR. Kristine and Duane decided on Monterey for their destination wedding and proceeded to make marry and coasted through their wedding day with style and love. I always love the rings that have etching inside them. Its so sweet to have something said commonly with love etched on the inside of your wedding ring. 🙂 I’m sure their nautical background inspired their wonderful star studded wedding invitations; and it seemed like the starlit glow was a theme for the entire day – even the carpet was studded with symbolic stars.
I’m telling you, the entire day there were beautiful sentiments of their service everywhere – if not chosen by choice in their destination wedding, it was pure kismet for the day. As per the tradition, his best men came in uniform and formed the military sword arch to celebrate the occasion. Then we moved to the Monterey Marriott and they claimed the top floor with this gorgeous view of the Monterey Bay. An exquisitely brightly lit day at the end of a leap year February, it filled the ceiling floor with fresh natural light, beautifully off setting the navy blue reception theme. And with some roof access – pssh, fuh-get about it.
